Peer Review Process

Peer Review Proses : Manuscripts submitted to IQTISHODUNA: Jurnal Ekonomi Islam will undergo an initial selection and assessment by the Editorial Board to ensure compliance with the journal’s writing guidelines, focus, and scope, and to confirm that the manuscript meets high academic standards. All manuscripts are reviewed using a double-blind peer review method, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed.

Desk Review: At the desk review stage, manuscripts are examined to ensure that they comply with the journal’s writing guidelines and fit the journal’s focus and scope. If a manuscript does not meet these requirements, the author may be asked to revise it according to the given criteria. However, the manuscript may also be rejected at this stage.

Peer Review: Once a manuscript passes the desk review stage, it will be sent to two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The peer review process is normally completed within three weeks. Manuscripts that do not pass the desk review will not proceed to this stage.

Reviewer’s Decision : Reviewers will provide one of the following recommendations:

• Accepted: the manuscript is acceptable for publication.
• Accepted with minor revisions: the manuscript is acceptable for publication after minor revisions addressing the reviewers’ comments.
• Accepted with major revisions: substantive issues must be revised (e.g., data analysis, theoretical framework, and/or rewriting sections).
• Rejected: the manuscript is not acceptable for publication, or the reviews identify fundamental problems.

The reviewers’ recommendations will be considered by the Editorial Board to determine the next steps.

Revision Stage : If minor or major revisions are required, the manuscript will be returned to the author along with a review summary form. Authors are allotted three weeks to complete major revisions and one week to complete minor revisions. When resubmitting the revised manuscript, the author must complete and attach the review summary form.

Final Decision
At this stage, the Editorial Board will re-evaluate the revised manuscript to ensure that the author has adequately addressed the reviewers’ concerns. The manuscript may still be rejected if the revisions are not completed seriously or do not sufficiently resolve the issues raised.

Proofreading
Once the manuscript is deemed acceptable, it will undergo proofreading to ensure linguistic accuracy and clarity.

Publication Confirmation : The final layout (proof) will be sent to the author for confirmation. At this stage, the author may correct typographical or minor formatting errors. After the author’s confirmation, the Editorial Secretary will process the manuscript for online publication on the journal website and for print publication, as applicable.
