Abstract

This article is aimed to describe Kampung Inggris Pare as the center of the largest foreign language learning destination in Indonesia and how the method used in this learning centre. There are some languages learned here, such as, English, Arabic, Korean, and Mandarin, but English is the most popular as it is mostly searched for and preferred by the language learners. Kampung Inggris Pare, which was originally pioneered by Mr. Kalend Osen in 1977 with a  simple learning concept, has now grown rapidly to be able to spread its wings with the proliferation of English language courses in the region. The role of Kampung English Pare in helping many foreign language learners, especially English learners, from 1977 up to present, has attracted the attention of the researchers to find out more about the learning methods used. With qualitative descriptive research methods, this study shows that there is a change in learning  methods from the beginning of the founding of Kampung Inggris Pare up till now.
