Abstract: The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has
opened new opportunities in the field of education, including Islamic
Religious Education (PAI). One prominent AI technology today is
ChatGPT, a language model capable of interacting dialogically with
users. This study aims to analyze the potential use of ChatGPT to
enhance interactivity in PAI learning based on various literatures and
previous research. The methodology used is a literature review with a
descriptive-analytical approach to various scholarly sources, such as
journals, articles, and relevant research reports. The findings indicate
that ChatGPT serves as a learning medium that encourages active
student engagement through text-based interactions, enriches
understanding of Islamic content on a personal level, and provides a
flexible alternative to address students' learning needs. However, its
implementation also faces several challenges, such as the risk of
misinformation, limited student understanding of technology, and the
need for high digital literacy among teachers. This study concludes that
ChatGPT holds significant potential as an interactive innovation in PAI
learning, but it needs to be accompanied by wise and controlled
pedagogical strategies.
